Day 13: Kindness challenge

Today has been a good one. Very tiring. Around 11 am we got a truckload of 3 cubic meters of wood delivered to the the house.

Last time that happened, I was on a conference call via Skype and husband brought everything in and sorted it. This time I decided it was my turn so I brought it all in while I let him sort it.

Bear in mind we don’t have a wheelbarrow (yet), so all this was done by piling it up in sturdy plastic boxes and bring it all in trip by trip. It was a lot of trips. But we finally did it.

It took 2 hours and 15 minutes. And that included the 4 cigarettes breaks we had, and a quick video call with my brother. He sent me a lovely care package from Spain filled with the things I love the most. Including some Spanish sausages that somehow I missed in the photographs.

Later on, husband and I had some delicious pork ribs that I put to marinate last night, and had cooking in the over for 3 hours along with home-made fries.

I was exhausted. Still am. Nothing like a long and hot bath with hemp salt baths and a siesta to recover strength.

And so because today I had been home all day with husband and we have been working, I couldn’t do much in terms of acts of kindness. So when I woke up from siesta I did put together another box of old clothes and old duvets that we are taking to the good will store tomorrow.

It is not much, but is better than nothing. Every little counts. And given how cold it can get during the winter, somebody somewhere is going to appreciate the extra clothing and blankets and old jackets.

If you wish to post on social media, I recommend the following hashtags: #30DaysofKindness, #KindChallenge, #KindnessChallenge, #LoveOverHate, #LoveTrumpsHates, #HateIsNotWelcome, #LovePeople, #LoveIsStrong, #KindnessChallenge, #30DaysOfLove, #30Kindness, etc… These are just some suggestions. But I do hope you join me in this challenge.
